Make a fully operational hand-sewn Roman blind, with no visible stitching, to supplied hardware, compliant with blind regulations.

Learn how to assess and measure various window shapes.

Fabric estimation and accurate calculations for rod pocket spacing for standard fold and waterfall/cascade folds, including how to make integral rod pockets.
- Advise on working with suitable fabric, interlining and black-out lining.
- Learn about suitable hardware; fabric covered batten, chain mechanism and motorised systems.
- How to fit hardware & dress in a Roman blind.

If you are able to travel to us, we highly recommend training in-person at Master Soft Furnishers Academy, where you will receive individual tuition and guidance in a small class.
A deposit payment is required to secure your place on a course.
Balance payment is due to be settled at least
14 days prior to each course start date.
Option in ‘Your Account’ to make Part Payments towards the balance.
All course fees are include specialist products, designer fabrics and trims, together with a comprehensive step-by-step manual.
You will receive complimentary ongoing membership to our pre-recorded ONLINE courses, relevant to your ONSITE booking, including video lessons, business guidance and a supportive student community.
We provide refreshments throughout the day.

On completion of this course students will be awarded an Accredited Certificate.

ONSITE Roman Blind Course

Learn how to assess and measure various window shapes.

Fabric estimation and accurate calculations for rod pocket spacing for standard fold and waterfall/cascade folds, including how to make integral rod pockets for the perfect fold operation.
- Advise on working with suitable fabrics, interlining and black-out lining.
- Learn about suitable hardware, fixtures and fittings; fabric covered batten, chain mechanism and motorised systems. And how to fit this hardware, including how to dress in a Roman blind.
We run a 2 day ‘Advanced Blind Course’ where students learn further essential skills and techniques for the professional finish. Attending the full 3 days tuition provides a thorough skill set in making of professional blinds.
If you have completed our ONLINE ‘Roman Blind Course’ Accredited certificate, you are welcome to attend in-person our ONSITE 2 day ‘Advanced Blind Course’.
This programme is also incorporated into our ‘Level ONE’ course. You would only need to attend the first 4 days, to be awarded your Level ONE Accredited Certificate. The fee is equivelent to 4 days tuition – £796 (please contact us to discuss attendance options).
