Learn how to fit hardware; tracks, poles, blinds, pelmets, valances, lathes, swags & tails, arched windows and electric systems. Build a pelmet shelf to fit a bay window. How to fit and dress in window dressings.

ONSITE Introduction to Professional Fitting
Running a successful curtain making business requires a thorough understanding of how to fit hardware, whether you are employing a professional fitter or doing the fitting yourself. This course provides students with a thorough understanding of professional fitting with practical interaction.
- Comprehensive discussion and demonstration on tracks, poles, blinds, pelmets, valances, lathes, swags & tails, arched windows and fitting accessories, including electric systems.
- Demonstration on how to study various windows taking all factors into consideration to determine type of fitting and fixings required.
- Students will learn how to measure (and record) all window shapes, including bay windows and awkward shapes.
- Practical session;
– Students will learn how to fit tracks, poles, blinds and pelmets (including shaping into bay windows).
– Making of pelmet shelves and lathes.
– Hanging and dressing of curtains, blinds and other window dressings. - Discussion on tools and equipment required.

STEVE HARDING of BSH Contracts Blinds and Curtains, has over 30 years professional experience working as a professional fitter in the high end residential and commercial sector. His experience and knowledge is not only diverse, it is invaluable. He is highly respected in the industry and has a long standing business relationship with his customers and suppliers, including Silent Gliss who are internationally renowned for their excellent window treatment products and service. Steve commenced his career working for John Lewis and then went on to work for himself including setting up, running for nearly 20 years and then selling Ace Contracts, who are one of the leading suppliers on automated blinds and curtains in the UK.
